Letter from the President for 2021
2020 was a year like no other. There was a tremendous amount of uncertainty whether we would be able to get the kids on the field even for practice and development due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With each announcement of restrictions easing from Dr. Strang and his team the hope grew that we could offer the kids some level of normalcy and allow the kids to get on the field with their friends. Although our registration numbers were down approximately 30%, the LWF Baseball Association had a very strong showing in numbers compared to the rest of the province. I would like to thank players, parents, umpires, coaches and the many other volunteers for helping us make the most out of the season while keeping the kids safe.
For those of you who did not register last year we hope to see you return this year. Baseball NS expects a more traditional look to game play in 2021 but there will still be rules in place to help prevent the spread of the virus. We will continue to update on our Facebook page and website with any Baseball NS announcements regarding restrictions for the upcoming 2021 baseball season. Registration is now open through our website and I look forward to seeing everyone at the fields in the coming months.
Finally, tryouts for the Tri County Rangers will begin April 17th. If you are planning to tryout please register asap so we can confirm the numbers early and ensure we have enough time booked for the tryouts. Good luck to all of you and I will see you soon!
Thanks,
Justin Baker
President, LWF Baseball Association
